Elegant harvest palette
| Item | Why it works |
|---|---|
| Rust and terracotta | Linens and runners |
| Burnt orange | Roses, dahlias and pumpkins |
| Sage and eucalyptus | Fresh greenery |
| Gold and brass | Flatware and candlesticks |
| Amber glass | Warm candlelight reflections |
Linens and layers
- Start with a neutral linen tablecloth and add a rust cheesecloth runner.
- Use chargers in gold, wood or rattan under each plate.
- Fold linen napkins into a simple pocket or loose knot.
Centrepieces
- Build a low floral runner of roses, eucalyptus and magnolia leaves.
- Tuck mini pumpkins and pears among the flowers.
- Keep arrangements below eye level so guests can talk.
- Add tall taper candles in brass holders down the centre.
Details
- Use amber or smoked glassware for warmth.
- Set gold or brass flatware for a dressed-up feel.
- Place a leaf or sprig on every napkin.
- Hang greenery from the chandelier for a dramatic finish.
Tip: Keep taper candles in stable, weighted holders, away from florals and greenery, and never leave lit candles unattended. Check that flowers and greenery are not toxic if pets or small children are present, and secure anything hung from a light fixture so it does not touch bulbs.
