Boho Nursery: A Warm, Whimsical, and Soulful Space for Your Little One
A boho nursery feels relaxed, layered and full of natural texture, while still being calm enough for sleep. This guide explains what makes a boho nursery, three palettes to choose from, and the must-have decor elements to create a soulful space for your little one.
Three boho palettes
| Item | Why it works |
|---|---|
| Neutral boho | Cream, oat and sand |
| Earthy boho | Terracotta, rust and olive |
| Soft modern boho | Blush, sage and warm white |
| Accents | Rattan, jute and wood |
| Metals | Brushed brass or none |
Foundations
- Choose a natural wood or cane crib.
- Paint walls in a warm, muted shade.
- Lay a washable jute-look rug.
- Hang linen curtains with a blackout lining.
Must-have decor elements
- A macrame wall hanging above the crib.
- A rattan pendant or table lamp.
- Woven baskets for toys and nappies.
- Dried grass arrangements on high shelves.
- Floor cushions for a cosy reading corner.
Finishing touches
- Framed botanical prints.
- A rattan rocking chair for feeds.
- Layered knitted throws on the chair, not in the crib.
- Indoor plants kept out of reach.
Tip: Keep the crib bare except for a fitted sheet: no pillows, bumpers, throws or soft toys for babies under 12 months. Hang wall hangings and art away from the crib, keep dried grasses and plants out of reach, use cordless blinds and anchor furniture to the wall.
