Cottagecore Kitchen Must-Haves to Erase the Cold, Industrial Stainless Steel Look

By the Viral Info team · Updated November 2026 · 3 min read

Cottagecore Kitchen Must Haves

Stainless steel, white gloss and bare counters can make a kitchen feel more like a lab than a home. Cottagecore is the antidote: soft colors, natural materials, handmade pieces and a lived-in feeling. You don’t need a full renovation to get there. These cottagecore kitchen must-haves help soften a cold, industrial kitchen with practical, renter-friendly options.

Softening stainless steel

  1. Cover the fridge with a panel or keep it clear of clutter and add wooden accents nearby.
  2. Use a wooden bread bin next to steel appliances.
  3. Add warm-white lighting (2700K) instead of cold LEDs.
  4. Hang a vintage pendant over the sink or island.

Vintage finds

  1. Mismatched vintage plates.
  2. An old wooden chair or stool.
  3. Enamelware canisters or a kettle.

Tip: Don’t buy everything at once. Cottagecore kitchens look best when they’re collected over time, with thrifted and handmade pieces.
