Jungle Themed Boho Bedroom Ideas

A jungle boho bedroom mixes two things that belong together: the layered, collected look of bohemian style and the lush green energy of a tropical garden. It is the room you want to wake up in on a grey Monday. The trick is to make it feel like a retreat rather than a garden center, which means choosing plants you can keep alive and balancing all that green with calm, earthy basics.

Build the base palette

Start with warm neutrals and let the greens be the accent.

Role Colors Where
Base (60%) Warm white, sand, oatmeal Walls, sheets, curtains
Green (30%) Leaf, olive, moss, deep forest Plants, wallpaper, throws
Spice (10%) Rust, terracotta, mustard Cushions, pots, rugs

Walls and backdrop

  1. Botanical leaf wallpaper on one wall. Palm, banana leaf or monstera prints behind the bed create instant jungle drama.
  2. Peel-and-stick tropical mural for renters.
  3. Deep green accent wall in olive or forest for a moodier take.
  4. Bamboo or grasscloth texture for a subtler, natural look.
  5. Oversized macrame wall hanging to add boho softness against the green.

Plants that actually survive in a bedroom

  1. Monstera deliciosa. Big, sculptural leaves; happy in bright indirect light.
  2. Pothos trailing from shelves or a hanging planter. Nearly impossible to kill.
  3. Snake plant for darker corners and low-maintenance owners.
  4. Bird of paradise for height near a sunny window.
  5. Rubber plant with glossy, dark leaves that suit moody palettes.
  6. Hanging planters at different heights to create a canopy effect.
  7. Group plants in threes on a plant stand or the floor, varying height and leaf size.

Tip: Check your light before you buy. North-facing rooms suit pothos, snake plants and ZZ plants; bright rooms can handle monstera, bird of paradise and fiddle-leaf figs.

Furniture and natural materials

  1. Rattan or cane bed frame. The heart of the look, light and airy.
  2. Bamboo or wicker nightstands for texture.
  3. Teak or reclaimed wood dresser to ground the space.
  4. Hanging egg chair or a low floor cushion corner for a reading nook.
  5. Woven pendant light to cast leafy shadows at night.

Bedding and textiles

  1. Linen bedding in cream or sand keeps the bed calm.
  2. Leaf-print or block-print cushions to echo the theme.
  3. Olive or moss throw layered at the foot of the bed.
  4. Jute or kilim rug for warmth underfoot.
  5. Light linen curtains that let in plenty of sun for the plants.

Finishing touches

  1. Terracotta pots and woven baskets for planters instead of plastic.
  2. Botanical art prints in bamboo or wood frames.
  3. Warm string lights or a rattan lamp for a sunset glow.

Jungle bedroom FAQ

Are plants in the bedroom good for sleep? They will not purify the air in a measurable way, but greenery helps many people feel calmer. Keep watering trays tidy to avoid fungus gnats.

How many plants do I need? Three to five larger plants plus one or two trailing ones usually give a jungle feel without overwhelming the room.

Can I fake it? High-quality faux plants work in dark rooms; mix them with a couple of real ones for authenticity.
